Bespoke Lifecast Sculptures

Personal sculptures that capture a moment in time with the ones you love.

Lifecasting is a uniquely personal way to celebrate and preserve a moment in time of a shared embrace with loved ones. My handmade Lifecast sculptures capture every last detail & texture, using skin-safe & non-toxic materials to create a stunning piece of art that you can cherish forever. Fully customisable in pose, colour/finish & display mount, a Studio Delma bespoke Lifecast sculpture makes for a distinctive & heartfelt gift for engagements, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and any other occasion.

How It Works

The term “lifecasting” refers to the process of taking a mould from a living human body or body part in order to create a three-dimensional replica. The process involves taking a mould of your hands in your chosen pose, which is done by plunging your hands into a container of a lukewarm pink custardy material that quickly sets around your hands. You’ll need to hold still for a couple of minutes while the material (alginate) sets to a solid yet flexible consistency. Once it is set you can gently wiggle your hands out, leaving behind a perfect mould of your embrace. You’ll be fully guided throughout the process by  trained lifecasters. Lifecasting appointments take place at my art studio in Whitwell, Isle of Wight.

Your Lifecasting Options

My hand-holding lifecasting service is available to adults and well-behaved children aged 10+. I offer a range of colour/finish options but if you have something special in mind get in touch and we can discuss options. Sculptures are mounted on a black painted wooden base as standard.

About Me

My name is India Allin and I’m the founder and lead artist of Studio Delma, my decorative arts studio where I specialise in sculptural plaster artworks. I was taught the art of lifecasting in university in 2016 when I studied Prop Making, and have since continued to expand my skills and knowledge in this area. I’m now bringing my lifecasting services to the public after much time spent testing, developing and finessing a seamless service & high quality final product.
